Low Profile mode explained: Take the wing control bar out of its trailering cradles and rest it on the frame. It is a great way to get the wing a few inches lower, but it is not suitable to trailer down the road like that. For trailering, secure the control bar in the cradles.
SUPER LOW Profile mode: You can get the wing lowest by undoing two bolts to remove the control bar. Now you can lower the wing even further so that it will easily fit under a normal residential garage door as shown here:

We have new and used trikes available, with and without floats. New ones with options can be $70,000 and we have used ones down to $6000. New price list attached. For used ones, let me know your wants and approximate budget and I will send you ones that fit. One vs two seats, land only, water only or amphibious.
Mark Hartness says
Hello, My name is Mark.
I am a medically retired Paratrooper from the 82nd Airborne. I have 87 static line jumps, and being at altitude is in my blood. I want a Cygnet so bad I can taste it, but I can only spend about $5k-$6k. My disability is a vertebrae fusion, but a weight shift setup shouldnt be a problem for me.
Is it possible to get a (USED) Cygnet in a 2 seater, with a double pontoon Land/Water landing configuration that needs a good forever home for what I have to spend? It would need to be sturdy enough to make a flight from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Bimimi Island, Bahamas, then on to Exuma, Bahamas, and then all the way back to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Thank you for your time, and any information or tips you feel appropriate, please chime in. I am a NEWBY at flying, but I have a LOT OF NATURAL INSTINCT and experience with wind shifts and altitude matters from parachuting. I understand I may need to get an LSA LICENSE if I carry a passenger? If so, then it will be done! I’m 54, and me and my wife want have at least one more grand adventure before we get too old. I am thinking that flying a Cygnet would allow us to enjoy many years of adventuring.
Thank you again.

I realize this question was several years ago, but even in that time, you would not have been able to get what you were looking for. IF YOU DID FIND A TRIKE That did all that for $5-6k, I would not trust it on the ground, much less than in the air.
I see your post, you are thinking of carrying a passenger, and yes for that you will need an LSA certification at minimum. But don’t be fooled, it has to do with the type of equipment that you are flying…the Cygnet is a 2 place aircraft. Even though you are not carrying a passenger and flying solo, the aircraft requires a SP-WSC endorsement. The Explorer 103 is in the “ultralight category” and can be flown by a single person. You might be able to find on in the price range, but an ultralight will not make the trips you are talking about. So, best advise is, either dig deeper in your pockets a minimum of $10k to get a certified aircraft and then plan on getting your SP WSC certification, or find something else to get your “Adventure” on. This is not a sport you want to cut corners in.
You have a big wish list and a small budget. There is no way to make that happen. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I do not want you thinking you can make this all happen.

Hi Mark Rubenstein
Thanks for your thoughtful reply to Mark Hartness. We had phone conversations with him at the time.
We get many inquiries from people who don’t know the costs involved even in our lower-cost segment of aviation. $6000 can buy a good used wing, OR a good used (two-stroke) motor, OR a good pair of used floats. But only one of those things, not all three. That’s why the MINIMUM price for a used Cygnet is in the $20k’s. For a 4-stroke Cygnet, minimum is in the $40s.

Can tell me the price and weight for the floats include under carriage?
Thanks
Pete
percym says
Hi Pete
Our heavy duty floats weigh 70 pounds each. The undercarriage weight varies on many factors depending what your application needs. Please call us to discuss.

What size enclosed trailer would I need to fit the Cygnet with Northwing Mustang Wing still attached (Length, width, and height)?
percym says
Hi Corey
There are the ‘standard’ dimensions that the Cygnet folds down to quick and easy, and then there are ways to get it a little smaller but requires additional steps. For example, standard width is 97″ from outside to outside of our big balloon tires. But that is too wide for an ocean freight container, so for container shipping we take 5 minutes to take the balloon tire wheel off, and replace with a skinnier wheel to roll right in.
Quick fold height is 101″, can be brought down to 96″ with additional steps, and could be brought down to 90 inches with more additional steps.
Total length including the wing sticking out the back is 258 inches.
Best regards,
Michael Percy

What’s up guys?!?!? What the take off/landing distances on water? I have a lake behind my house and am trying to find and LSP that will accommodate a 2 seater.
Any and all help is appreciated! JR
percym says
Hi Jason
The takeoff and landing distance is very short–only a couple hundred feet. But in the bigger picture, we need to consider obstructions around the lake such as trees hills and buildings. Our aircraft always wins the ‘shortest water takeoff’ competitions, but you still need some space to safely operate.
