If you already have a pilot certificate, we can add on the additional category and class ratings as soon as you become proficient. The FAA category is Weight Shift Control (WSC) and the classes are Land (WSCL) and Sea (WSCS). We have a network of independent flight instructors who own Cygnet aircraft and provide training in them. Contact us to find your nearest available instructor. They typically charge $60 to $100 for their time and $100 to $200 per hour for their aircraft. Sometimes they offer discounts for purchasing blocks of time in advance.
If you do not already have a pilot certificate, you need a minimum of 15 hours of flight time with an instructor and five hours of solo time before you can take your check ride for your Sport Pilot certificate. At typical rates, 15 hours of flight training with an instructor will cost you $3000 to $4000 in the instructor’s Cygnet. If you provide the aircraft, the cost could be half. Also, if you provide the aircraft you have something to solo as soon as you are ready.
Most instructors do not have an insurance policy that will allow you to solo their Cygnet, because it can be expensive to add a student pilot. One way to handle this is to buy an inexpensive used trike to do your solo flying and build your experience. This can be a very basic, old ugly trike as long as it is in airworthy condition. We get trade-ins that we can sell for $15,000 or less that are ideal for your first solos. When you have gained experience and are ready to step up to your new Cygnet, we can buy your inexpensive used trike back from you for almost what you paid for it. The total cost of this approach is typically less than adding you to the insurance to solo a newer Cygnet.
Contact us and we will put you in contact with an instructor near you. We currently have Cygnet instructors in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, California, Australia, Poland and Malaysia.

Hi Tim
You are welcome to join us in Florida for some transition training. We have new and used amphibs with prices as low as $20k for a two-seat amphibious aircraft ready to fly.
Best regards,

I want to buy one and fly it.
Training also.
How will get it home to Port Clinton, Ohio?
Can you sell one for $15,000.
percym says
Hi Chuck
Our aircraft are easily trailerable so getting it home is easy. They weigh about the same as a waverunner so they can be trailered with any car.

Hi Mike
Since I last visited you it has been a constant negotiation to get a Cygnet .
My original stance was to get a Cygnet, ship it to the South Pacific and offer rides for money. The counter argument was why would you want to deal with foreigners in a business situation?
The agreed solution is that I certainly can get a Cygnet for my personal enjoyment However it will not be used as a business.
I am 1 year from retirement. I would like to be included on a mailing list showing used Cygnets with the 100 hp Rotax coming on the market. My plan is to visit you this time next year. Purchase the Cygnet and do my flight training. I will then trailer it back to Asheville and enjoy Summer flying on the lakes and through the mountains. That is the best plan that will suit my wife and allow this to move forward. My apologies for taking so long but it is going to work eventually.
